This article covers the high-power air-water cooling flameproof induction motorwhich is different from the traditional flameproof motor in structure type. Owing to theair-to-water cooler, which improves the cooling effect, the performance of the motorimproves largely. The traditional flameproof motor of SEMC is enclosed compact type,and the cooling method is IC411or IC416. The heat transfer of this structure type onlydepends on the heat exchange on the motor surface, the cooling effect is inadequate, andthe power of the motor is limited. However, the development of the series YBDS breaks upthe limitation confined by the cooling method, the vendee has more choices than everbefore. Meanwhile, special advanced design technique is applied to the series YBDSmotors in many aspects, such as electromagnetism structure, ventilation and cooling etc.All of above enables the design parameters of the motor can be relatively high.This article covers in detail about the flameproof technique of the YBDS high-powerair-to-water cooling flameproof induction motor, the key point of the electrical design andthe mechanical structure design, the analysis and validate of how to select the motor coolertype,the structure and feature of the motor insulation, the special ventilation and heattransfer method, the special manufacture process of motor, the comparison between the experiment data and the design data,and at last, based on the current condition, analyzethe market prospect in the future.
