Engine room is the power center of the ship, which contain complex internal structureand a large of heat load. The temperature of the cabin is very high, and excluding the cabinheat and the harmful gas is the primary task of cabin ventilation system. Reasonable design ofthe ventilation system can effectively improve the cabin environment and equipmentoperating efficiency, and guaranteed safe and stable navigation of the ship. This paper took a ship engine room as the research object, designed the ventilationsystem and simulated the system by CFD,then analyzed the simulation results in detail. Themain content of this paper are as follows:1. In-depth study of fluid flow problems, and detailed analysis of turbulence theory andmodels to determine the mathematical model and numerical method to adapted the subject;2. According to the situation of cabin ventilation system and cabin air distribution designmethod, six different schemes of vents layout were simulated, and determined the bestarrangement of vents by the simulation comparison;3. Based on the analysis of air distribution, compared the simulation result of velocityfield and temperature field and relative humidity field on multiple operating conditions, studythe effect of supply air temperature and speed on cabin environment, proposed a reasonableprogram according to the requirements of the cabin environment;4.According to the existing problems of cabin local air distribution, this paper presentsoptimization improvements.Simulation results show that reasonable air flow organization is precondition for therequirements of the cabin. Ventilation resource can be saved by choosing suitable parameterwhen ventilation system operating. The study results of this paper provide a reference to cabinventilation system design.
