Making rare earth permanent magnetic crane of tonnage is possible and necessary with the rapid development of rare earth permanent magnetic material. Magnetic crane is designed and manufactured in the paper,which is rely on self-suction and discharge mechanism without electric power,Firstly, the working theory of rare earth permanent magnetic crane and the theory of magnetic-circuit are studied. We select the proper magnetic material, design the size of magnetic-circuit, and calculate the magnetic field intensity and the magnetic force by the magnetic conductance methodSecondly, we study distribution of magnetic induction intensity of the magnetic pole face and magnetic force, and calculate the distribution of the residual magnetic intensity and calculate the residual magnetic forceOn the other hand, the crane can lift without electric power, through the self-suction and discharge mechanism of the crane. The self-lock mechanism of the magnetic crane prevent over-turn of movable magnetic system, which is in the high energy and instable situationFinally, the industrial prototype has been made in order to test the performance of the magnetic-crane.
