| The demand for exploiting coastal sea area is increasing as the economy developsrapidly in recent ten years. As much coastal land reclamation from the sea instilled newvitality into the territorial economic growth, they also resulted in a host of environmentalissues such as changing the original dynamic environment or some other influence onfunctions of ocean which are worth serious researching and deep discussing. This paper usedmethods of data analysis and numerical simulation to study the reclamation’s influence onhydrodynamic environment of the Grape bay by analyzing the changing of hydrodynamicsand sediment because of reclamation in Weihai fishing center port on the basis of modelverification. There are some main conclusions:(1) Sea Reclamation Project varies themovement of tidal current field, weakens the tidal current and hydrodynamic conditions.(2)the project reduces wave input from open sea effectively, which makes wave height decreasein the Grape Bay.(3) the project reduces tidal residual currents, but it varies the structure ofresidual currents significantly. After the Sea Reclamation Project, tidal residual currents flowfrom east to west in the southeast of the Grape Bay, while in the southwest of the bay, bothtidal currents and residual currents are extremely small, which is relative to sedimentdeposition. Therefore, the changing of tidal residual currents and the weakening ofHydrodynamic environment are root causes of the change of the Grape Bay erosion anddeposition environment.(4) After the project, the large-scale sediment deposition in westernGrape Bay, is not from open sea, but from the other part of the bay, because hydrodynamicenvironment changes. This research can provide some reference to regulation project in theGrape bay and also can benefit the similar demonstrations of reclamation. |
