Concrete filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridge is a bridge with complexstructures. With the development of bridge China, the span of CFST arch bridge hasconstantly increased and its form has been diversified and personalized. Researchon CFST arch bridge has not yet formed a mature theoretical system, and there areno uniform norms and standards to follow. Technical problems still exist inconstruction. Study on the mechanical performance and stability of CFST archbridge has a certain theoretical significance and engineering value. This paper takes the large-span bridge of Baohedadao project as background.Main contents are described as follows:1. The static characteristics of the bridge during construction and service stageare analyzed. Mechanical characteristics of the arch rib, tie beam and hanger areinvestigated, and the rationality of design is verified.2. The linear elastic stability and geometric nonlinear stability of the bridgeare studied based on geometric nonlinear analysis according to the first type ofstability theory. Research shows that the bridge buckles mainly in the out-planedirection, and the difference between linear elastic analysis and geometricnonlinear analysis is little. In-plane stiffness should be strengthened on in design ofthis kind of bridge.3. Key design parameters of CFST arch bridge are studied. Parameter study ofCFST section stiffness values, form and spatial location of cross struts and tie beamstiffness are made in this thesis. Conclusions can be drawn as follows: rib rigid ofCFST arch bridge has great impact on critical load and the bending moment of archribs; changes in form and spatial location of the cross struts has great influence onarch stability; tie beam stiffness increases within a certain range of stability isfavorable.
