The failure of isolation system under strong earthquake is a hot issue, andsystematic research failure mode of isolation system has not been developed atpresent. This paper aims at the control method of damaging failure mechanism ofisolation system under strong earthquake.By combining theoretical analysis,computer simulation and shaking table test of the damaging failure mechanism andcontrol method of isolation system is studied. The main contents are as follows:1. According to the settlement of rubber bearing and the its damage understrong earthquake, caused by the uneven settlement of foundation, the creep ofrubber bearing or other factors, the influence of bearing settlement and damage onisolation system performance are studied systematically.Results show that thesettlement and damage of rubber bearings have a great influence over the stress ofrubber bearing and the internal force of beams and columns nearby.2. Various isolation systems have different failure mode.Non-lineartime-history analysis and Pushover analysis are combined to find the failure mode ofisolation system in this paper, and the control method of isolation system failure ispresented. Considering the nonlinear problem of isolation lay while neglecting otherlayers’s, the differences of3D isolation model and multi-mass model were comparedby elastic-plastic time-history analysis.3. In order to verify the effectiveness of isolation system damage controlmethod, a4-layer steel structural frame model is designed and fabricated, and theisolation layers is installed on the top and bottom of first floor, then a system withfoundation isolation and layer isolation is formed, and its shaking table test isconducted. Structural seismic responses are analysed under a set of accelerationexcitations.The effectiveness of damage control method by adding dampers on isolation layer of foundation isolation is effective by test,as well as theeffectiveness of adding dampers on lower substructure of layer isolation.Andisolating effect of different isolation system and main factors affecting isolationsystem are analyzed.4. Simlifying calculation program of isolation system by Matlab, seismicresponse time history analysis of isolation structure shaking table test model iscarried out. And the actual table measurement is taken as the excitation, and thedynamic characteristics, acceleration response, displacement response and storyshear of different isolation models are compared and analyzed.,and then comparedwith those of shaking table test, so as to verify the accuracy of the shaking table test.According to the above research, it provides necessary support of science andtechnology and the technical reserve for isolation technology, which is importanttheoretical and the practical significance.
