Air reconnaissance is the most efficient way in the means of military reconnaissance, Aerial camera as an important device to obtain the image on aircraft, the imaging quality plays a vital role. As for the aerial scout, the higher it flies, the less easily to be detected by the enemy. Therefore the smooth implementation of reconnaissance operations and the personal safety can be ensured, and meanwhile it also increases the amount of terrestrial information which is obtained by us.In the past,the aerial camera which is long-focus、large image and high-resolution is very difficult to design and manufacture,so it is mostly imported from foreign country by our country. Such as the aerial camera whose type is KA-112and KS-146is imported from America in1980s.Today, this optical system which is big calibre、high precision can be designed、manufactured and assembled by the booming optical industry of our country.This paper studies the composition and classification of aerial camera in the first,and analyze the developmental trend of aerial camera in our country and foreign country.Reference to the feature of the foreign aerial camera whose type is KA-112and KS-146,the paper makes a point which is domestic aerial camera should have the mechanical and electrical interface, once we have a suitable CCD, according to different task of reconnaissance to choose the type of aerial camera.Then this paper studies the structure、basic type and general design methods of photographic objective. Compared with general photographic objective on the design method, the special factors of the aerial camera is illustrated.In the end, a objective of Aerial camera is designed,the focal length is1000mm,the relative aperture is F/5.6,the field of view is6.6°and the operating temperature is-40℃×50℃, worked in the waveband of visible light. To correct the secondary spectrum by the method of P-V graph,the athermalization by using the multi-configuration of ZEMAX. The design results show that the imaging quality of optical system close to the diffractive limit, the design index is better completed.
