Sand is a common kind of foundation soil. The deformation which cantake bad effect on the safety, stability and use of the project will be verysignificant when the foundation meets cyclic loading, so it is necessary tostudy sand behavior of cyclic loadings. In fact, the deformation is controlledby cyclic loadings both in macro and micro respects, so it is also necessary tostudy sand microscopic mechanism behavior of cyclic loadings. It is usuallyto establish proper numerical sample when we research sand microscopicmechanism behavior, and the rational choice of parameters is the key. In thispaper, we discuss the different micro-deformations of sand’s numericalsample on kinds of parameters under the cyclic loading by simulating themechanical properties which is completed by the soft named PFC2D.Following are major elements:1. Made five different research plans for DEM numerical simulation byusing PFC2D. These plans are used separately to study the influences ofdeformation which are taken by the cyclic loading characteristics (includingstress level, k0and loading rate) and sample material properties (includingkn/ks, the friction coefficient of passive loading wall).2. By analyzing the numerical simulations of all five plans, it can beobtained: the changes of k0and kn/kswill make the biggest influence in axialstrain, particle contact force distribution and the displacement distribution, etc. It can be concluded: Among the stress level, k0, loading rate, kn/ksand thefriction coefficient of passive loading wall, k0and kn/ksare the most sensitiveparameters. It will be more carefully to choose them when we research thenumerical sample of cyclic loading.
