Inlay art did not rigidly adhere to the first image it showed. And now, what weneed to discuss is the nasality of its wide application in the design of urban landscape. It’sapplied as a decoration to the facade of the building, rather than a hanging mosaic on the wall,which is promising.In the low-carbon living, environmental conservation of life today, both the use of materialsand beauty of expression should be low-carbon and can be weathered many storms of rain andsnow. More to the beauty of material and color are shown. These performances through the citycan emphasize the characteristics of each region. What’s more, they can ensure that the overallenvironmental quality of urban landscape. Thus, using the urban landscape mosaic is notresistance, but the help, and it can perform the large-scale mosaics the value of art.The essay disscusses four main aspects of the trends of inlay development in the urbanlandscape design: first, a proposition of related conceptual theory of inlay art, an overview ofrelevant theory of urban landscape, preliminary study on the development of inlay art in urbanlandscape design and comparison of the development between China and the west, and analysisof the importance of urban landscape design in urban construction; second, analysis on thehistoric process of application of inlay art in the urban landscape design and commentary aboutthe necessity of existence of inlay art in city landscape design with Chinese and the westernexamples; third, analysis on the evaluation of inlay art value in urban landscape design andinterpretation of the application of inlay art in urban landscape design, which reflects urbanlandscape aesthetic value, media value and culture value; fourth, demonstration of the realitysituation and deficiencies to the application of inlay art in urban landscape design based onmethod of interview and questionnaire and delivery of constructive views on the application ofinlay art in urban landscape design in China.Inlay art is extensively used in various areas instead of being locked to these areasmentioned above. It is believed that we need to constantly update perspective and broaden ourhorizons to study and explore. Modern inlay art is a complex and multi-dimensional integrated whole, which is implemented under the certain economic conditions including meeting thefunction of community, conforming to the rules of nature, following ecological principles andbelonging to the category of art. The only way to give landscape design work a abiding vitality isto realize a balanced, pluralistic and harmonious development among these factors on the whole.
