The old Baitao town area is the Chemical Industry Park in Chongqing form past to present, and there are over two thousand people. Meanwhile the Nuclear Industry816factory having over billion fixed assets is one of leading companies of the chemical industry field in Chongqing. In addition, the Baitao town’reservoir bank Collapse and its influence field have many important facilities which can’t moved and still need to be protected, such as the thermal power plan of JianFeng Chemical Engineering Central Plant, water factory, highway. So, to the old Baitao town reservoir bank slope, it can cause a great influence on the safety when the reservoir bank slope occur landslide after reservoir impounding. For these reasons, it is very important and necessary to study the stability and deformation characteristics of the old Baitao town reservoir bank slope in different states and different water levels for its theoretical and practical significance..The investigation of local geological condition and the management design of reservoir bank slope are studied in detail during the whole process. Based on adequate relevant data and field investigation, the Baitao collapse formation mechanism and the stability of reservoir bank slope and the way of collapse forecast and comprehensive treatments are studied to its geological environment using many methods, such as field investigation, laboratory testing, and theoretical analysis. And in this paper, some important results are made as follows:(1). First, the location of the old Baitao town area reservoir banks is divided into two sections, mixing plant-Bai Tao food store area (178-586-fL-21-1) and Bai Tao food store-terminal area (178-587-fL-21-2). Then, according to the reservoir bank classification principles and standards, the fL-21-1segment is divided soil slope and the fL-21-2segment is divided soil slope and mixture of soil and rock slope after considering the factors and breaking mode of bank collapse.(2). Kaqiujin graphic method is used to forecast collapse range and intensity of reservoir bank slope in Baitao town area reservoir banks. And forecast results show that the width of fL-21-1bank collapse is38.08to68.84m and affecting height range is176.90to182.14m and the degree is strong. Correspondingly to fL-21-2bank collapse, its width is12.50~119.84m and affecting height range is175.45to211.04m and most parts of the bank collapse is in a strong degree, only some small areas slightly (PX6).(3). In the process of slope stability calculation of the reservoir bank, the transfer coefficient method is employed for the whole area stability checking and the circular slip method is used for the part area stability checking. Meanwhile results show that slope of the fL-21-1segment is stable at the whole, but the front of slope is in an unstable-less stable condition which is easy to collapse. Most reservoir bank of the fL-21-2segment is in poor condition viewing from the whole stability, so it’s destruction type is the whole slip, and part is erosion type.(4). From above results, comparative analysis is made based on the safe principle and reliable economical principle. And some useful schemes are proposed. The FL-21-1bank collapse should be suppressed slope toe by using gravel then cut slope body. And the FL-21-2bank collapse should be adopted barricade combining with revet-slope and used slide piles in some places. The treatment scheme has had good economic and social benefits.
