The communication network of the power system of China experienced the the process of overhead lines, the subsequent power line carrier, microwave communications, and optical fiber communication. Take Fujian province for example, the ordinary optimal line between the communication schedule center of power plant and transformer substation which is located on the east part of Fujian, becomes the first optimal communication line in Fujian. In the first half of1998, the first OPGW line and the first622Mbit/s SDH equipment were put into operation, when the Fujian power system optical fiber communication has begun to enter the stage of rapid development. Power system which utilizes its own advantages, erection of self-supporting cables with all-dielectric and OPGW is a general trend along the high voltage line synchronization. Power communication is the universal application of fiber optic cable across the country, a substation node power optical fiber communication network covering the whole country is gradually formed. Finally, the construction of the substation fiber-optic communication networks is particularly important in the construction of the entire electric power communication network, which made the subject of substation fiber optic communication network design.The following work is done in this paper:1. Two common communications cable in Power Line Communication applications were analyz ed.2. Fuzhou region, fiber optic network over status, design network plann ing planned to build a110kV substation Exhibition substation comp lete fiber optic communications network.3. Exhibition substation fiber optic communications network progr-am in the design of the110kV cable model, the relay distance of critical data, research computing, and in accordance with engineering practice to make the right judgments and choices.
