The power industry which is a high energy-consuming industry occupies an important position in the national economy. As the environment pollution and energy depletion are becoming more and more serious, we should do something necessary for the sustainable development of national economy and reducing environment pollution, such as adjust the power structure, coordinate resources configuration, make use of clean renewable energy preferentially, save energy and reduce polluting emission. Seeking a strategy to ensure the power system security, stability, economic operation, has become the key to a saving, clean, green power industry.Hydropower is a renewable clean energy,with the advantages of low running cost,flexible operation and peak regulation.Therefore,in the context of energy-saving dispatching,studying the hydro thermal coordination operating mechanism to make full use of hydropower is important for optimizing the power grid operation mode and achieving economic operation.The thesis adopts power system hydrothermal coordination issue as a research object, taking into account the different basis of hydro and thermal units,adds combined cycle units and becomes security constrained hydrothermal coordination issue. The thesis has calculated the SCHTC mode of a country’s actual power grid system by software GAMS effectively to find an optimal coordinated dispatching scheme, and got a reasonable hydrothermal economic dispatch to make full use of hydropower, making the total costs could be optimized to achieve a satisfactory result.The calculation results show that the zone dividing strategy and adding the combined cycle unit model are feasible and effective,we could not only coordinate regional outputs of hydro and thermal plants,but also improve fuel efficiency.In the thesis,we put forward a mode of hydrothermal coordination optimization with the unit commitment and security constrained,which reflects the requirement of energy-saving dispatching betterly and making power system more secure and economical, that would be a reference and inspiration for researching new methods to address the power system security economic dispatch problem more betterly.
