Self-Compacting Concrete(SCC) is one kind of High Performance Concrete.It’s a well-performing concrete with good performance of fluidity,anti-segregation and filling-up-space.SCC is a new type concrete with good social benefit,econonmic benefit and environmental benefit,in which high technology of admixtures and additions are applied.The composition of SCC is different from convrntional vibrated concrete.The amount of coarse aggregate is significantly lower and an SCC mixture has a larger amounts of fine materials.The change in grading of the aggregates could have a significant influence on the aggregate interlock of the material. This research performed24push-off tests to investigate the shear transfer characteristics of SCC.The main achiecements obtained in this study are as follows:(1) Identify the simple,fast and applicable methods to assess the work-capability of SCC.In this paper use T500slump-flow and L box.(2) Based on the work-capability of SCC, determine the C20,C40and C60SCC proportioning design.(3) By the24push-off tests,have researched the shear transfer characteristics of SCC. When the shear load is further increased,a truss action develops. When the shear acts on the truss,the struts tend to rotate and so stress the transverse reinforcement.Failure will finally occur when the concrete struts fail under the combined action of compression and shear in the struts,while the reinfoecement continues to develop its yield strength.(4) Normal stress becomes larger when the reinforment ratio increases.Due to these larger stresses,the ultimate shear strength is increased too.It can be noticed that the initial crack width at the moment of cracking is reduced when a larger percentage of reinforcement is provided,as was to be expected.(5) The ultimate shear strength for SCC is increasing for increasing concrete strength and reinforcement ratios of the shear plane.(6) The equations for predicting the ultimate shear stresses of reinforced concrete proposed by various researchers were compared.Equations which provide better predictions are modified based on the former analysis.
