Brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories is a structure composed of two different bearing and resist lateral force system, which has a structure character of "the above stiffness is bigger than underside""the above weight is heavier than underside".Due to its uneven stiffness distribution, the structure’s internal force and deformation under the effect of earthquake influenced by stiffness of the underlying frame structure and the upper wall can’t been over-looked. Wenchuan earthquake damage investigation of brick basonry building with frame structure at lower stories found:the collapse of the bottom frame structure and tilt the bottom frame structure as the main form of structural damage. In recent years, particularly after the2008Wenchuan earthquake, For seismic design of some cities and regions to improve the seismic fortification intensity, then many of the original seismic design of buildings can not meet the requirements. Therefore, the study about seismic property and the method of reinforcement on brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories is very important.Based on previous researches, the finite element numerical simulation analysis of the seismic response for brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories interaction system was carried out using the ANSYS software. And the methods and laws of the seismic response were studied. The main achievements are as follows:(1)The paper reviews the research situation and development level about the interaction of brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories on home and abroad, and analysis under earthquake damage characteristics and failure causes under earthquake damage.(2)The finite element method is applied to seismic response analysis. The seismic response finite element analytical methods of brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories are decision, including the selection of the finite element model of brick masonry structure and reinforced concrete members,the input method about the earthquake, the consideration about the damping and the gravity of the model.(3)The brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories plane finite element analysis model is established. The responses of brick masonry building with frame structure at lower Stories were analyzed under frequent earthquake influenced by upper middle wall openings.(4) The brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories plane and space finite element analysis model is established. The responses of brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories were analyzed under frequent earthquake influenced by change stiffness of beam and column. According to the results of analysis, this paper proposes suggestions of engineering practice.(5)The responses of old brick masonry building with frame structure at lower stories were respectively analyzed by three reinforced scheme. According to the results of analysis, suggestions of structure reinforcement are proposed.
