Automobile adaptive cruise control system (ACC) can do a great deal of help ondriver’s longitudinal control when the car is in motion. ACC controls car speed anddistance from front car in order to follow the front car that with variable speed safely,which can reduce the driving burden on the driver. At the same time, it can improvecomfort for diver and reduce traffic accidents effectively.The paper will use relatively simpler method than classic way to establish thelongitudinal dynamics model, the model is created by Carsim software. It isnecessary to determine the input/output parameters in the model building process.Do research on the control flow of adaptive cruise control system, make a analysis ofthe cruise control and adaptive cruise control, and focus on analyzing switchingmethod between the two mode and process. Explain and make a analysis ofconstraints such as safe distance, radar monitoring distance, maximum acceleration,maximum host car speed and maximum jerk. Study on ACC system control algorithm,the paper use fuzzy MPC control algorithm to study ACC system’s control strategy.It is need to set up model predictive control algorithm at the first place, and then blurit,set up fuzzy MPC controller. Blurring process need several tests. Get a simpleand reasonable safety and comfort control strategy by simulation testing anddebugging. Set the laser radar on the host car by using the active safety softwarePrescan. Then import the longitudinal dynamics model and control strategy into thesoftware. Set up seven kinds of simulation needed operational conditions, establishthe simulation environment. Simulation of the article is mainly for comparing theACC system set up in the paper with the traditional PID control, the simulationcontains seven operational conditions, such as cutting of low-speed target vehicle,cutting of high-speed target vehicle, departing of target vehicle. These simulationresults mainly include velocity, acceleration, jerk and relative distance.Dynamic model and ACC system’s simulation environment set up in the paperis simpler than traditional method, what’s more, it can meet the simulation’srequirement. The paper can obtain a more effective ACC system control flow.Demonstrate the control strategy established in the paper is more comfortable andsafely than the tradition control method.
