With the sustained growth of China’s economy, the demand for traffic lines is increasing. In order to improve the capacity of the line, the requirement of the route alignment is getting higher and higher, the bridge towards must be subordinate to the overall direction of the line to ensure a linear smooth, therefore the oblique high pier is inevitable. On the basis of practical engineering, the characteristics of bias high pier were analyzed in this paper, and the influence of the geometric nonlinear effect on the mechanical properties of the pier were also studied. At the end of this paper, the pier sunshine temperature effect was studied. The detailed contents are as follows:1. By use of the Youshui bridge pier which is in the construction in Zhang-hua highway as an example, a space beam grillage model of the bridge was established by using software MIDAS, and the most unfavorable load of the pier had been analyzed. Based on the load, another3D solid model of Youshui bridge pier was built by using software ANSYS. With the model, the mechanics characteristic of the pier was analyzed under the action of the most unfavorable load. The mechanic characteristic of the pier coping was also analyzed.2. Taking the Youshui bridge oblique high pier as an example, the oblique high pier3D solid model was established based on the nonlinear finite element analysis theory and method by use of ANSYS software. The geometric nonlinear effect of bridge pier was analyzed, and the stress performance of the bridge pier structure was studied by taking the geometric nonlinearity into account. Comparative analysis of the difference of pier ultimate bearing capacity in the case of not considering geometric nonlinearity and considering geometric nonlinearity, and considering both geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity. The analysis of the variation of limit bearing capacity of bridge pier with different skew angle were also conducted.3. Consulting a lot of reference literature, the influencing factors of concrete structure temperature effect and finite element analysis method were introduced. The Youshui bridge Oblique high pier, thermal effect analysis model was built by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Based on the spot experimental data, the structure temperature field and temperature stress distribution characteristics of bridge pier under the action of sunshine were analyzed. After applied load and boundary conditions, structural mechanic characteristic of the pier under integrated factors was also analyzed based on the analysis method of temperature effect. At the last, the influence of support reaction under temperature effect was studied, then the torque of bridge was provided after the support reaction changed.
