Along the high-speed railway, the landform environment is complex and varied, especially the second channel from Lanchow to Urumqi and the coastal passenger special line. All high-speed railroads are under the strong wind (typhoon) throughout the year. In order to ensure the operation safety of the high-speed train, it is necessary to set up anemology stations to monitor the wind change along the railway in wind areas. Therefore, the layout of anemology stations reflecting far field wind speed is of utmost important.Based on the computational fluid theory, the DES(Detached Eddy Simulation)method according to the model of SST κ-ω was used. Combined with field test, the flow field distribution on both sides of high-speed railway in wind areas under different railway conditions and different windbreak facilities was simulated to obtain the wind speed distribution under different embankment height, cut forms, wind speed, wind angle, wind-break wall (sound barrier) height and wind corridors. Thus it determines the reasonnal position of the anemology station,(1) When the height of embankment on flat ground is3.5m, before the windward of the wind-break wall, the reasonable distance of the anemology station which is4.0m higher than rail surface is35m. As the embankment height increasing, the relationship between the reasonable distance and the embankment height is quadratic polynomial, but with the height increase of the wind-break wall it is linear.(2)Under different cut forms, an anemology station which is4.0m higher than the cut top should locate in10m where is before the cutting edge in the windward side.(3) With different height of high embankment and viaduct bridge, the relationship of speed at anemology station and far field wind speed is linear. The far field wind speed is calculated by the anemology station at catenary pillar, which is7.5m higher than rail surface. All these research achievements provide scientific basis for the optimum setting of anemology station distance from the high-speed railroad in wind areas.
