| It is widely accepted that the dynamic pressure of a silo is greater than the static pressure, butfew researchers consider the dynamic pressure in squat silo during a discharging process. Inaddition, the squat silo mostly uses the bottom flat with several discharge ports. As a result, the eccentric discharging problem might occur during the discharging process. Thusly, thisthesis follows the aim of the projects:“Research on the dynamic pressure and the eccentricdischarging problem during a discharging process in large diameter squat silo†and “Scienceand Technology Innovation Team of Henan province–“The New System of EcologicalStorageâ€ï¼Œand studies the dynamic pressure and eccentric discharging problem of granularsolids through the experiment and numerical simulation. The major work in the thesis is described as follows:1.The experiment is conducted by the actual scale model in this thesis. The static pressure andthe pressure during the eccentric discharging are measured. Then the dynamic pressure iscompared with the static, the squat silo code value and the pressure during the eccentricdischarging process. The overpressure coefficient of each point along the wall was calculated, and then found out the position where the maximum dynamic pressure happened.2.Discrete element procedure PFC3Dis used to establish the scale model identical to theexperiment one. The model considers the properties of the granular solid flow in the squat silowhich the finite element method cannot do. Through the numerical simulation, the staticpressure and the pressure value during the eccentric discharging are also calculated andanalyzed.3.By comparing the simulation results with those of the test in the laboratory, we can analyzethat the position from the discharge port has a large effect on the dynamic pressure if the portsopened all or not.The maximum dynamic pressure happened at the location of2/3of the silo wall whenclose to the ports, and at the location of1/3silo wall when away from the ports. Therefore, through the experiment and numerical simulation, the phenomenon of theoverpressure during different discharging patterns and eccentric discharging are confirmed.Consequently, the problem of dynamic pressure cannot be ignored in engineering designing. |
