Concrete-filled special-shaped steel tubular column-steel beam frame is a novel structural system. It has high strength, toughness and good plasticity. Up to now, there were few researches on Concrete-filled special-shaped steel tubular column-steel beam frame. And the beam-to-column connections in frames, should be susceptible to the earthquake. As to this, This paper perform the numerical research for the mechanical performance of the Concrete-filled special-shaped steel tubular column-steel beam frame under level seismic effect.Basis on studies and application of CFST connections both at home and abr oad, in this paper, the seismic behavior of mid-point in the concrete filled speci al-shaped steel tubular column-steel beam frames were systematically investigated based on theoretical and experimental method, the following work has been don e:(1) This article is based on the experiments, nonlinear finite element mode ls were established though ABAQUS6.5and used to analyze seismic performance of the connection under low-reversed cyclic loading, The failure Process and fai lure mode of the models under level earth quake action were developed, moreov er the hysteretic curves, the stress nephograms and the displacement-force relatio ns were deduced. Comparisons were made between the numerical results and the experimental data..The outcomes revealed that the monotonic loading Performan ce, hysteretic characteristics in the elastic phase and failure mode all tallied Perf ectly. The better mechanical Performance of the new joint pattern was approved by the experimental and numerical results.(2) Based on the above-mentioned research, through changing the axial compression ratio, concrete strength grade, steel pipe strength grade, to explore the relevant factors of impact of node seismic behaviors. ABAQUS analysis showed that the axial compression ratio and steel pipe strength have a big influence on the bearing capacity of the node, And the strength of the concrete of core area have little influence on of the bearing capacity.(3) CFT beam-column joints of tall buildings that often been used in engi neering are surmised and a new taxonomy, the mechanism that joints sustain she ar forces and multifarious factors influencing joint shear strength are discussed. Based on test and theoretical analysis and the relative code, the equation of the joints shear resistant are deduced, and the design suggestion of the joints are als o given.
