In recent years, with the rapid development of urban construction, the conflicts of urbanconstruction land have been increasingly prominent and people start to pay more and moreattention to the ecological environment construction and sustainable development. GreenBuilding is a specific application and practice of sustainable development strategy inconstruction field, which makes the vertical greening that does not account for space as animportant way of urban three-dimensional greening.In the past, vertical greening was usually been seen in the overpass, garden wall. Butnow more and more new vertical greening cases have been seen in architecture. Verticalgreening not only compensate the shortcoming of the limited area of the city ground greening,reduce the urban heat island effect,but also can improve the building’s physical properties. Itplays a certain role in building energy conservation and has a visual effect which rigidmaterial incomparable with. Vertical greening is becoming one of the important way ofcombing plant and architecture.This paper makes a systematic study of the application of new vertical greeningtechnology by combining with the case of the new vertical greening technology’s applicationin buildings. In this paper,we discuss the advantages and the limitations of new verticalgreening technology,and also make a classification research to the vertical greening systemaccording to its different structure,and hopes that can make people have a deep understandingof the application and design features of new vertical greening technology in buildings.The paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter discusses the background of the topics of study, research purpose andsignificance, and research methods of the generality of exposition.Chapter II reviews the development process of vertical greening in buildings,summarizes the function of vertical greening, and also discusses the advantages,disadvantages and applications of the traditional vertical greening.Chapter III systematic describes the type of new vertical greening technology, constituteelements,describe the aesthetic characteristics of new technology, technical advantages andlimitations and also make feasibility analysis of variety greening systems in the ecology andeconomics. Define that new vertical greening technology have a great future prospects in thebackground of sustainable society.Chapter IV mainly introduces the applications of new vertical greening technology inbuildings by displaying detailed and case pictures, summarize and analyze the characteristics of different greening system in application. Finally, we participate in the practice of verticalgreening design and construction, trying to appreciate the impact of new greening technologyto architecture.Chapter V discusses the far-reaching implications and practical significance of newvertical greening technology in architecture design, and also forecast the development of newvertical greening technology in architecture.Chapter VI is the conclusion.
