Wind loading is of great important to the safty and serviceability of tall buildings. Wind loading is become the most considered laod instead of earthquake loading with the increase of builfing height. How eve, it is difficult to calculate wind induced response direct from wind characteristics, because numerous dynamic analyses involved in calculation is not convinient for engineering applications. Equivalent static wind load on tall buildings earns a lots of attention in the field of wind engineering. Based on the work of predecessors, the paper father researched on wind-induced response of tall building. The paper formulate a method for along-wind static equivalent wind and response of tall buildings adopting the coherence function of fluctuating wind velocity suggested by professor A.G Davenport. The wind load and response is separated into three parts:mean component, background component and resonant component. The background component is calculated by Quasi-Mean-Load method while the resonant component is calculated by inertial wind load method. Based on the Equivalent Wind Spectrum Technique, the background component and the resonant component are simplified appropriately.Based on the above simplified method for static equivalent wind load, the equivalent wind load is expressed as the product of mean wind load and gust loading factor. A simple and practical parameter is established. Based on three tall building, the advantages and disadvantages of the simple parameter is revealed, compared with the ISO standard and the wind load codes of America, Japan and China. At last, The paper take a concrete core wall-steel frame structure as the research object. The wind velocity schedule is simulated by AR auto-regressive method. Time history responsed analysis of tall building is carried out to investigate the response in time domain.
