Reactive Powder Concrete is a new type of cement based composite materialswith ultra high strength and ultra high durability after the successful development ofthe high strength concrete and the high performance concrete. Because of the uniquesuperior function of RPC (effectively reduced structures’ weight; greatly improvedthe durability of structures; effectively reduced the number of distributed steel andstirrups; to be benefit of structure seismic and shock resistance; high resistance towatery and high temperature resistant properties), it can be used in very widely field.In civil engineering, along with the rapidly increasing of high-rise buildings andlarge span structure, it provides a huge market for the spread and application ofRPC.RPC also has very broad application prospects in transformation of structureand bridge. At present, the study of RPC materials has been mature, but how to usethe materials in the structure and for practical engineering need to study in further.Because of these, this paper is intended to rely on a passenger foot-bridge withRPC and steel truss composite structure, mainly discusses the problems of RPC asstructural components in engineering field. This text explores the adhesive propertybetween the high strength reinforced and RPC by the experiment. Through the gripof concrete experiment between steel and RPC, we can ensure the thickness ofconcrete cover and the bonding mechanism between the high strength reinforced andRPC; through the plate transverse test, we can solve the load problem of two-waycantilever plate pieces to offer the parameter for passenger foot-bridge and we canrealize the structural behavior of RPC building element; through the push out test ofshear connector, we can realize the differences of shear connector’ service behaviorsbetween normal concrete and RPC, and we can also know the shear connector heightimpact on the Structural shear performance. The investigative results not only guide on the completion of pedestrian overpassrelated design, but also for RPC as a combined structure applied in practice lay thefoundation.
