Solar power generation is an effective way for solving the problem of current energy, resource and enviroment. Solar power generation technology is being imporved and developed more and more, along with the development of our national economy, implement of sustainable development planning and more importance is atatched to environmental protection, here in China will enter a developing period of using solar power generation. The research of solar power generation reflects the important leading field and basic problem of current, even future few decates’ world energy science development. Also it means a lot to the large-scale using of solar power generation and successful implement of sustainable development strategy.This paper analyses the present research situation of current world solar power generation technology, establishes the exergy balance equation for parabolic trough solar power generation system according to the law of thermodynamics and gets the system thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency according to the calculation of SEGS-Ⅵ design parameters, also reveals the distribution of exergy loss in each position of the system. The analytic result will offer basis for improving trough solar power gernerating system and increasing the efficiency more. This paper also does the exergy analysis for the trough solar supported coal-fired electric generation (SSCEG) system, the exergy efficiency which gotten by calculation is higher than the single parabolic trough solar power generation system and gets the amount and distribution of exergy loss in each position of the system which offers foundation for compositive optimization of the trough solar supported coal-fired electric generation (SSCEG) system.At last, this paper proposes a testing platform scheme for parabolic trough solar thermal collector which is used to test the collector heat performance, and then comparing the different collectors performance, optimize the design of the collector; This paper also introduces the spotlighting irradiation analysis device and describes the device’s scanning and measuring method.
