PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor/Generator (PM-RSM) is a relatively new type of synchronous motor.This motor has both the permanent magnet synchronous motor high power density, high efficiency, high power factor and small volume Characteristics etc., also it has wide range speed like synchronous reluctance motor. So more and more researchers research this motor.This paper first introduces the research status about PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor. And then know the basic structure of this motor from the origin,development of PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor. Compared with axial chip stack of rotor structures PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor,the blunt piece of the overlying type of motor rotor structure is more simple,and the production cost is much lower, mechanical strength higher.So it is used more and more in production. This paper studies the blunt piece of the overlying type of motor rotor structure.Through simply analys the structure and the mathematical model of the permanent magnet synchronous motor and the synchronous reluctance motor. Then can get the basic principle and the mathematical model of the PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor. From the mathematical model, the electromagnetic torque of this motor is exactly same as the permanent magnet synchronous motor.It comprises by the permanent magnetic torque and magnetic resistance torque. But in fact they are very different. Because for the PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor, the main purpose of the permanent magnet excitation system, improve the power factor. Therefore, the permanent magnetic torque is not great,but the torque is relatively large.First the basic structure is determined.Then we established a18Kw motor model by using ansys finite element software. In addition, we analyzed the load,no-load electromagnetic field in detail.From the result of no-load electromagnetic field, the magnetic flux leakage of this motor is more serious.So flux density of harmonic distortion rate of the moter is higher.There is a strong relationship with the structure of the motor itself. D axis armature current can better weak the electromagnetic field when it is loaded. The primary factor of weaking magnetic field is d axis circuit reactance.So it is needed to increase d circuit reactance properly. And at the same time it is needed to reduce the q circuit reactance. Because the magnetic resistance torque of the motor is proportional to the d,q circuit reactance. Through the calculation of the d,q circuit reactance, the results show that the parameters of the motor is reasonable.Finally, through the analysis of the motor parameters on motor performances,at last we designed a PM-Assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor. The capacity of the motor is18Kw.And it has6poles. The weak magnetic speed control ability of the motor is good.It can well run at higher speed range.
