Campus is a place for cultural education. Because of its special nature, college campuslandscape must have a difference to other landscape types; we need to focus on its educationalfunction. On the basis of the analysis of the university campus landscape types, functions andexisting problems, it summarizes the content and features of educational function in theuniversity campus landscape. The educational function of the university campus landscaperefers to the promotion and infection role of college spiritual and cultural incentives forteachers and students. Campus landscape provides with high-quality communication space andpromotes interaction and learning activities for teachers and students. Besides, it must developa positive life attitude and learning attitude for them also helps enhance the educationalfunctions. At he same time, the educational functions of campus landscape also includeadvanced concepts used in the campus landscape design guidance for teachers and students. Inother words, campus landscape which positive impact on students and promote theirimprovement of moral and behavioral have a good educational function. The educationalfunction of campus is inextricably linked to the college spirit. The essential requirements ofcollege spirit hope to achieve best all-round education for young students, not only to promotethe absorption and accumulation of knowledge, but also help them to form a correct positiveoutlook on life, values and promote the young students’ comprehensive development of themoral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic. The educational function of campus landscape andcollege spirit are mutually reinforcing relationship, because the spirit of the campus has aneducational function requirements and campus landscape reflects college spirit through the wayof materialized it in the landscape. The main findings are as follows:(1) On this basis of in-depth interpretation of campus landscape and its educationalfunction, and through multi-angle analysis to prove that the importance of educational functionfor campus landscape itself, teachers and students.Therefore, it is necessary to research theeducational function of campus landscape.(2) The study also detailed analysis types of educational function of the campus landscape.Educational functions are classified as seven types, which are art and aesthetics, history andcultural, emotional and psychological, environmental and ecological, ideological and moral,experience and participation, science and innovation. These types of education function basically covered the forms of education existed in campus landscape.(3)The core of the research is based on the systematic investigation on the major collegesin Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Chengdu. The main mean we used to analysis andevaluation the selected10universities of the campus landscape status quo is AttributeHierarchical Model (AHM). Then, we draw out of the value scores of campus landscape. Thestudy provides some reference to further understanding of educational function of the campuslandscape.(4)Finally, on the basis of the analysis and research studies with the foregoing situation,we come to the objectives and specific measures to optimize campus landscape based on theeducational function. In order to achieve the optimization goal, we should make efforts in thefollowing aspects: historical and cultural heritage, the extension of college spirit, the creationof multi-level communication space and the enhancement of the image of campus landscape.
