The Research Of Soil Compaction And Indicators

The compaction quality of the soil after the completion of construction, has an important significance for the carrying capacity、the deformation properties and long-term stability for the soil foundation. Different types of soil have different mechanisms in the compaction process and different result after the compaction. Analysis the interaction of soil particles、water and air in the soil, can make a preliminary evaluation of the compaction result. Selecting the appropriate filler, reasonable control in the construction and selecting appropriate compaction indicators to testing and evaluation is the key of the soil compaction quality. At present, there are many different widely used compaction indicators. In the using of these indicators, different types of soil have different standard. Study the correlation between these indicators, in the testing process, for the correlation indicators, we can use only one of the evaluation to reduce the duplication of effort in the testing process and the damage to the soil foundation.This text rely on the engineering practice of the construction of a playground of Wuhan University of Technology, make some related discussion on soil compaction mechanism and application of the compaction index.The main content and conclusion include:(1) This paper describes the various factors that influence the effect of compaction, and made a specific analysis of the compaction process, soil particles and water interaction of the process. Analysis the different characteristics of the different nature of prime soil, graded aggregates, cement stabilized gouache in the compaction process rely on the compaction curve.(2)Calculate the additional stress and the settlement of soil in the compaction quality test process with the transfer matrix method, comparing it with the results got by traditional method and the measuring date. Analysis the real settlement of soil constitute by cement lime stable layer and gravel layer.(3)Introduce some kinds of filled soil compaction test standards of widely used, compare these different standards with actual test condition in the engineering practice, analysis the reasonable and limitations of them. Get some reasonable trimming program for the shortage.
