Research Of Museum Temporary Exhibition Lighting Design

At present, visiting all kinds of exhibitions in museums has become a modern lifestyle. The basic museum exhibitions can’t meet the increasing culture and spiritual needs, and so all kinds of temporary museum exhibitions are increasing. In our country, the research into lighting of basic museum exhibitions is already relatively deep, while basing on the characteristics of differences between temporary exhibitions and basic exhibitions, the research of lighting of temporary exhibitions is relatively fewer. So in reality, the common problem of lighting of temporary museum exhibitions is:The temporary exhibitions show in the destructive light environment, while not apply the past artistic attainments accurately and widely, then the exhibitions’"original" cannot be true again. And lighting pollution affects visitors’ psychology and spirit negatively, thus causes dual loss of the material value and the spiritual value, so it is necessary to research the lighting of temporary museum exhibitions.This paper consists of three parts:(1) Discuss the production, functions and it’s historical evolution of museums, learn about the history of temporary museum exhibitions. Define the differences between temporary museum exhibitions and basic museum exhibitions, generalize the classification, features and the contemporary meaning of temporary museum exhibitions.(2) Arrange the lighting elements and standards of temporary museum exhibitions, research the lighting design of existing temporary museum exhibitions and summarize the design methods of lighting.(3) Through the case investigation and the lighting test in the national museum, gather the data of illumination intensity, income average illumination, uniformity of illuminance and three-dimensional sense indicator to research, combine with subjective evaluation, analyse and discuss the illumination intensity, the light directionality and glare to different dimensions and different materials of exhibitions’lighting, then to determine the appropriate illumination methods.Through the lighting test in the national museum, basing on the judgment and the experimental data, this article summarizes the lighting characteristics of different dimensions and different materials of exhibitions by questionnaire. At the point of the characteristics of differences between temporary exhibitions and basic exhibitions, strive to systematically summarize lighting methods in temporary museum exhibitions and lighting patterns for various materials’ exhibitions, so as to provide instructional suggestions to lighting of various materials’ temporary exhibitions in reality.
