With the rapid development of our country’s electric network, rural power grids are in the process of construction, development and improvement. In this situation, rural power grids also call for suitable communication channel. Our country’s next decade, strong smart grid which has many good features, such as informatization, automation and interaction, will be built. Even higher requirements have been put forward for the development of rural power grids.For this reason, In order to resolve the problems of poor safety, lacking control and communication techniques and low management level in current countryside grid, a kind of intelligent monitoring and management system of countryside power supply district transformer based on GPRS technology is designed in tis paper. The design issues and fuctions of each level of the system is well analyzed.The main work includes:First, On the basis of system overall design, the project of wireless communication networking and connection project between GPRS and Internet are designed. Secondly, the design project of software and hardware of GPRS smart terminal is given and selection of GPRS data transmission protocol, making of system communicaion protocol and system communication process are well illustrated in this paper. Thirdly, Through the demand analysis on communication and management system of front server, system use3layers B/S architecture. Design of data base, platform and tool for software development are well illustrated in this paper. Network communication project based on.NET technology and TCP/IP protocol is designed to realize network communication between terminal and front server. Finally, software realization of management information system of primary station is well illustrated on the basis of function analysis.For all of these, this system will promote our countryside grid’s automaticlevel and make it more reliable, more secure and more economical.
