There is a large area of river basins in our country, and the government build lots of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, especially in the Yellow River and Yangtze river basins, as well as the tributaries. Even though the reservoirs can control the impact of flooding and provide hydro-electric power for the area nearby, it causes seriously negative influence on the slope stability of reservoir banks. There are many highways and housing constructions along the direction of the flowing water in the reservoirs.The constructions will be effected by the security of bank slopes. Thus, it is meaningful to analysis the effect, which is putted on the constructions along slopes made by Reservoir slopes.This paper analyses the main factors that influence slope stability of reservoir banks, and gets features. It proves some hypothesizes, via numerical simulation and datas of engineering survey. When the slope is in stable phase, the displacement caused by creep and includes horizontal displacement and vertical displacement, always leads to differential settlement, which emerge in infrastructure along slope. It analyses cracks which emerge in masonry structure and frame structure, and analyses case.The theoretical calculations of cracks of masonry structure are accomplished with the differential settlement, so is the frame structure. It also analyses the building case. It gets features of structural security with the study.It also presents criterions of structural security. The mainly studies of this paper are listed as follows:1. The mechanic models, that water acts on the side slope of reservoir bank, can be sorted out in to four categories, such as hydrostatic pressure, buoyancy, penetration and ratio of weight increasing, which is caused by upstream water. Storing water is the typical role of reservoir. As a result, the main characteristic of Reservoir slope is the change of reservoir water level and ground water level. The seepage of slope become the main influencing factor of slope stability, when ground water level changes suddenly that is caused by heavy rainfall or other reasons. This paper presents some relational graphs between ground water level and reservoir water level, which are based on observed data, and put forward the method that forecasts the landslide of reservoir bank. It consider four mechanic models, which water and stable seepage act on slope, and present a engineering meaning and reasonable simplified formula for the calculation of slope stability, with the consideration of stable seepage.2. This paper sums up the main reasons for non-uniform settlement of building structure. It also analyses mechanism that non-uniform settlement affect the superstructure. The influence of basic uneven settlement taken into consideration, it analyses the cracking principles of masonry structure and frame construction. It conducts elastic-plastic analysis for masonry structure and gets the calculation formula, which can be used to check the crack of masonry structure, with the considerations of settlement both at the end and middle. For the frame construction, the paper calculates the crack directly, and gets the ratable threshold of settlement’s deviations, which is the result of frame construction’s crack with different intensity. The ratable threshold is between0.45%to0.73%of the building’s length. It gets the security features of houses along the reservoir banks, via the analysis and verification of cases.3. The change of displacement, which belongs to the slope of reservoir bank, is more than normal landslide’s apparently (especially in the period of squirm). Even though the load and structural stress will redistribute, the growth of crack won’t stop, after the differential settlements have been occurred in building. What’s more, the facultative different settlement of cracks, which emerge in the building built on the slope of reservoir bank, is less than the data the standard lists apparently. Therefore, the security standard of slope of reservoir bank is showed as follows:when the building gets the ultimate differential settlement that it permits, the building is unsafe. The security level of building built on the slope of reservoir bank is one level below less than the level of normal building.
