The Research Of Algorithm Image Schema In The Parametric Language Of Architecture

The development of architectural design is accompanied by the changing of cognition about architecture mechanism. Human cognitive experience gave the development of architectural design of unlimited power. In the objective world, extraversion and introversion factors influence the formation mechanism of the construction of the architecture. From the early people’s cognition about natural order and ontological philosophy to the two different directions of the modern philosophy which is the philosophy of the cognition study and the philosophy of linguistics. The development of human knowledge and cognitive structure promotes the evolution of culture. And then affects architect cognitive constantly updating. The philosophy of linguistics leads profound affection to architecture. The linguistic of architecture is a language system. We use space, form, material, structure as "words" and follow a syntactic rule in order to construct a special language system. In this paper, author will discuss the generating mechanism of the parametric language of architecture:the cognition of algorithm image schema.Schema is a kind of abstract structure which extracted from people repeatedly appeared cognitive experience. It can help people to establish the cognition of the relationship about objective things. Cognitive linguistics considers language system is a kind of cognitive structure of human. People use the language system to make metaphor. So that people will know the complicated relationship between things. Image schema is one way to generate metaphor. It has the same quality as the schema and it can project the abstract structure from its source domain to the target domain in order to complete the cognition of concept.In the parametric language of architecture, the algorithm image schema built its formation mechanism. Algorithm is the computer science vocabulary and it has highly abstract logic as same as schema. So we can cognize the generating elements of the architecture by extracting the schema and project to algorithm schema, we can generate the architecture form. In this way we can correlate algorithm and cognitive to generate the mechanism of architecture. And integrate building extraversion factors and introversion factors into the algorithm image schema to create a more suitable building mechanism.In this paper the final section discussed about how to use the algorithm image schema to the algorithm architecture in the future. It use artificial intelligence schema theory to explore the possibilities about construct the parametric model in physical world, which makes parametric architecture in the physical world can establish a feedback adaptability of the system become realization.
