With the popularity of the air-cooled system, its optimizing design has become a focus of attention. The initial temperature difference, wind speed, heat transfer area of air-cooled condenser, and ambient temperature are the design parameters, so they were analyzed based on the detailed heat transfer calculation, and the effect of them on the operation of the air-cooled system were also discussed in this paper. Besides, in accordance with the law of dynamic economic and running costs, a power station with600MW units was employed to verify the optimizing design with the optimization objective of the annual total cost. Then we got the influence law of system economy affected by ITD value and the wind speed whose optimum value were also derived. The effect of heat transfer area on the optimum ITD value and the wind speed were comprehensively considered, that is to say, the optimum ITD value and the wind speed were selected to obtain optimal heat transfer area and to meet the full load of units in summer, and then the unit can get the most effective economic. Meanwhile, the interaction between the two variables of the ITD value and the wind speed were researched and all the analysis provides a theoretical basis for the economic operation of the direct air-cooled system. In order to accumulate experience for the safety and economic operation of units in winter in the cold area, the impact of changes in ambient temperature on the turbine back pressure and unit effectiveness were also analyzed which were very important to furthest increase the safety and economy of the direct air-cooled system.In view of the broad application of the optimizing design of the direct air-cooled system, this paper completed the software of the airborne mechanical and electrical load analysis and product life experimental design by using the object-oriented programming language C#and based on NET3.5development platform in VS2008. The software established procedures for design database based on the design model of the direct air-cooled condenser and the annual total cost minimization. The procedures include design module and optimization module of the direct air-cooled condenser. The Design is to determine the structural arrangement and geometrical parameters to meet the premise of the system design parameters, and the optimization module is to analyze the economy of the system based on determining the external environmental parameters and body structure parameters of the air-cooled condenser. The advantages of this software include easy operation, complete functions, and a convenience for the optimizing design of the direct air-cooled system.
