In the soft soil excavation, reinforcement in passive zone can improve thebearing capacity in the passive zone, reduce the deformation of the supportingstructure, inhibited the uplift of internal foundation pit,so, reinforcement in passivezone has been widely used in soft soil area. Many scholars do research on parametersof reinforcement solid by experiments, they provide some computational experienceformula about strength of reinforcement solid, but few scholars do research on themechanism of resisting capsizing to cement soil supporting structure, slidingresistance, the overall stability of reinforcement in passive zone, The research of earthpressure distribution change in reinforcement wall lateral are less, and thereinforcement mechanism of action is unclear. This paper pay attention to the mechanism of reinforcement in passive zone, resistance of capsizing, anti-slip, the overall stability of reinforcement in passive zone, analyzing the stress of reinforcement soli and so on, some limitations of methodsincalculating the reinforcement in passive zone has been proposed. The overall pitsstability safety factor are obtained by comparative strength reduction and standardocuments, come to increase the width of reinforcement is more effective than increasethe depth of reinforcement in the pit overall stability. In this paper,by use of the finite element software named Plaxis, thecomputational model of passive zone reinforcement is established.Analysis thereinforcement solid depth, width, the strength reinforcement soil, the width offoundation pit and other factors which influence on the horizontaldisplacement ofcement-soil retaining wall, the foundation pit surface Settlement the uplift of internalfoundation pit, descript the regularity changes.By analysis of finite element model, theactive area of earth pressure and passive earth pressure of cement-soil retaining wallare extracted, analysis of changes in earth pressure shape, resultant force and resultantforce role of position by reinforcement and different reinforcement forms, analysistheeffective of pit stability by the changes.Analysis the stress of reinforcement, thenormal stress and shear stress in reinforcement two sides and a bottom are discussed, pit stability factor is calculated, and evaluate the pit stability by reinforcement.
