Cable-stayed bridge with rotation construction is more competitive, when conventional construction methods aren’t applied to the construction conditions. Because it not only has unique advantage in construction but also has majestic upright structural characteristics of cable-stayed bridge. The cable-stayed bridge horizontal swivel process has four construction phases, which are, start-up phase, accelerative rotating construction phase, the uniform rotation phase and braking phase. In the rotation stage, cable-stayed bridge bear complexity of stress under the multi-variable coupling effects, so that the strength and stability of cable-stayed bridge should endure different test in different stage. Therefore, it is necessary to have a special research on mechanical behavior and stability in the rotating construction process.Firstly, a systematic exposition of construction methods and mechanical characteristics the cable-stayed bridge is made. And, a summary and analysis on the development status of rotational cable-stayed bridge construction technology has been carried in this paper.Secondly, according to the structural characteristics of the cable-stayed bridge with rotation construction, the finite element model of the bridge are separately built using the Dr. Bridge and the MIDAS/Civil software. Then, the optimization of cable force in cable-stayed bridge has been taken to calculate the cable force value in rotating construction process. And, it’s solid model is built for dynamic analysis using the ANSYS software.Lastly, this article researches on the mechanical behavior of the cable-stayed bridge in rotating construction process. The elastic stability analysis and geometric nonlinear stability analysis of the cable-stayed bridge are carried out. Through static and dynamic calculation, the influence relation of some parameters (such as vibration induced by train traffic, wind load, rotation rate, length of cantilever, cable layout, structure weight, unbalanced weight, structural stiffness, etc) to mechanical behavior, geometric shape and stability of the cable-stayed bridge has got.Through the comprehensive analysis, we can know that, the sensitive factors are structure weight, unbalanced weight and length of cantilever. The suitable cantilever length of cable-stayed bridge with rotation construction is the length of the main girder with stay cables. In order to ensure the construction safety, the structural weight error and the unbalanced weight should be controlled below5%in the construction control of the rotation construction of cable-Stayed bridge.
