The Research On Underground Public Space Design Of Beijing Subway Major Station

This article focuses on public space design of Beijing subway major station. Proceed from the engineering requirements of the underground transit and the characteristics of the underground space,studying on the appropriate techniques for the design of Beijing subway major stations.With the requirements of spiritual civilization improved continuously and the relevant policies published, the design of Beijing subway major stations is the daily stressed but it is still in a initial stage of development, the design of public space is still not rich, murals, reliefs and imitation of the traditional symbols is wide used.At present, Beijing subway is in a concentrated period of development, respond to the fast development it is important to analyze, summarize and feedback to learn from other developed countries in the public space design on the subway major station and enrich the public design of Beijing subway station, whether it is to shape the city’s image or to improve the quality of public space design of the subway station.This paper based on the present condition of Beijing subway public space design, combined with the foreign Subway major stations to explore a new direction for the Beijing subway underground public space design, focusing on metro public transport and site characteristics, concerned about the feelings of passengers on the subway stations and the basic theory of Gestalt in space design. Based on the application of the theory, the collection of the literature and surveied of the site, found the problems in the design of Beijing subway underground public space,pointed out principles and recommendations being Beijing Subway public space design,with the questionnaire and to participate in the metro project which further amended the arguments in the study.I had the honor to participate in the public space design of Beijing subway,summarized some practical experience, did this research on public space design of Beijing subway marjor stations. I hope through the study and summarize could give value in this field and the new batch of Beijing Subway underground public space could have a certain spatial features and play an active role to improve the image of the city.
