This paper introduces the basic working principle of oscillating heat pipe (OFHP) and discusses the influence factors of heat transfer performance of it. Analysis the effect of the geometrical parameters, physical parameters and operating parameters on the heat transfer performance of OFHP, describes diameter, cross-sectional shapes, the working fluid, filling rate, inclination, vacuum, heating power and heating section length of OFHP heat transfer performance.Further research is done on the development of OFHP practical skills based on the law of it. For the first time the OFHP is used in solar water heaters, and successfully produces an oscillating heat pipe of confined solar water heater prototype, and build on this basis, the oscillating-flow heat pipe solar water heater thermal performance test platform is set up. Thermal performance of indoor experiments on oscillating heat pipe solar collector are proceeded, get some results, treatment has been done and gets the instantaneous efficiency of different heating power, angle and heating mode of the plate oscillating-flow heat pipe solar water heater, instantaneous efficiency cuvee under different conditions is gained, as well as a simple analysis of the has been done. Arrive at the same angle and surface heating cases, the different heating power heating, the solar collector performance in the initial stages is best, and then reduces; the instantaneous efficiency of the solar collector adds with the increase of heating power, but there is a great value, followed by a decrease. Collector efficiency increases with increasing angle, the bottom of heating is the mostAlso, refers to GB/T4271-2007"solar collector thermal performance test method", The oscillating heat pipe of flat-plate solar water heater thermal performance of the outdoor experiments are proceeded. Experimental results show that compared with the traditional solar water heater, the oscillating heat pipe for solar water heater has the higher instantaneous efficiency and thermal performance is better.
