At present, artillery design, which need to be revised repeatedly, still uses the route "Design-Develop-Test-Modify". This design mainly relies on experience of designers and design criterion, so there is much rational shortage. This always causes a long development cycle and high design costs. Improving the performance of artillery, shortening the development cycle and reducing design costs become urgent Problems in artillery design. Along with the development of CAE technology and the maturity of optimization design, it is great significance to study new artillery structural design methods of artillery structural and design new high-performance artillery configuration. In this paper, based on CAE technology and optimization design, improved design and optimization innovative design of a typical artillery gun mount were carried out. The research work is as follows:1. Static stiffness analysis of the gun mount based on CAE technology. Based on the similarity of the structure of a typical artillery, simplified mechanical model for a typical artillery was established. Evaluation methods, which tests gun mount static stiffness, were proposed. Based on simplified mechanical model, FEA model of the initial design of a typical artillery was established. Static calculation and static stiffness assessment of the gun mount under a number of working conditions were carried out. The whole deformation and stress of the gun mount were analyzed in detail. The results show that static stiffness of the gun mount is weak and the whole deformation is too large, so the support stiffness of the weak parts need to strengthen.2. The improved design of the gun mount based on CAE technology. According to the calculation of the initial design of the artillery, the weak parts of the gun mount was found. The gun mount was improved by two stages. The static stiffness assessment of the improved design was carried out. Assessment results show that improved design greatly improves the static stiffness of the gun mount, which have a important impact to the gun Performance. At the same time, the improvement of the gun mount is recurrent and completely based on CAE technology.3. Innovative design for the mount of artillery based on topology optimization. In order to improve the static stiffness of the gun mount, the maximum stiffness of the gun mount is as the optimization objective. The mathematical models of topology optimization design of the gun mount is established. Topology optimization of the gun mount is carried out by Optistruct. Reinforced innovative structure design and evaluation were aslo carried out subsequently. Results show that optimization techniques not only avoided a repeat design of the gun mount, but aslo faster, more effectively improved the static stiffness of the gun.
