With the development of the automobile industry, much better performance of vehicle is required. The hydro-pneumatic suspension (HPS) is a kind of suspension which integrates the traditional suspension and hydraulic transfer technology and possesses good nonlinear feature and vibration reducing performance. It can better satisfy people’s requirement for automobile ride comfort. Now, hydro-pneumatic suspension has been widely applied for limousine and Construction Machinery. The research on hydro-pneumatic suspension is very important for improving the performance of vehicle. Virtual prototype models of hydro-pneumatic suspension are built with ADAMS and AMESim based on the knowledge about the structure and working principle of hydro-pneumatic suspension. Dynamic characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension are analyzed in ADAMS. Besides, a simulation model of fuzzy control system of hydro-pneumatic suspension is established using Simulink. A comparison is given by the collaborative simulation between AMESim model and Simulink model of fuzzy control system. we can know the differences between the hydro-pneumatic suspension with fuzzy control system and without that. The main contents as followed:(1)According to a large mount of literatures, the situation at home and abroad of hydro-pneumatic suspension, the structure and working principle of hydro-pneumatic suspension are introduced. The physical model and the nonlinear mathematical model of hydro-pneumatic suspension are set up based on a kind of mineral product automobile.(2) Machine model of hydro-pneumatic suspension is built in ADAMS/VIEW and hydraulic pressures control system of it is built using ADAM/HYDRAULIC. They are established to analyze the dynamic characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension system.(3) Active Control System of hydro-pneumatic suspension is built which contains a Fuzzy controller. This Fuzzy controller is built with body acceleration and relative displacement of hydro-pneumatic suspension as input and the displacement of valve core (percentage of valve opening) as output.(4) Collaborative simulation is set up between AMSIM model and fuzzy control system Simulink model of hydro-pneumatic suspension. Compared the ride of the automobile, an evaluation can be given about the control system with fuzzy controller.In conclusion, dynamic characteristic simulation and fuzzy control simulation are achieved. This thesis analyzes the dynamic characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension with different relevant parameters and what extent they influence the dynamic characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension. Besides, an effective control method is given. All the research concentrates on the future design of hydro-pneumatic suspension.
