Dueto the huge earthwork quantity of a highway project, the construction cost for thewhole earthwork quantity takes quite a large proportion among the total highwayproject cost, so in the various stages of highway construction especiallyinvestigation, design, bidding, constructional budget, roadbed earthwork quantitycalculation exerts great influence. At present, computer aided design makes thecalculation simple and accurate, but the designers must still make the putativeanalysis of the various issues related, to make roadbed earthwork quantitycalculation accurate and reasonable. In the tendering phase, the constructioncompany ought to develop the corresponding treatment scheme according to theconstruction unit construction machinery, equipment and other resources after fieldinvestigation of geological, topographical conditions in order to make the earthworkand stonework quantity to be relatively accurate.In this paper, through the design of the actual project of Huadian to Huinanhighway, Da long to Da ling section and according to the geological data, terraindata, survey data and the graphic design, longitudinal design, cross-sectionaldesign, the author works out the roadbed design table and bill of earthwork quantity.Then the author conducted a detailed analysis of the main factors affecting earthworkquantity measurement accuracy, and according to the actual demand of construction,do some correction to it, managing to make the roadbed earthwork quantity calculationmore practical and reasonable. After the amendment, the earthwork quantity and theconcerning item numbers are greater than that of the traditional design, and drawa conclusion that the actual cost is far greater than the construction drawing budget,which is of great guiding significance to the actual engineering bidding andpractical construction control.
