In the past40years, several large-scale collapse of building structure, which leaded heavy property losses, casualties and negative social impact, was thought-provoking. In recent years, experts and scholars from different countries more and more pay attention to the study of resistance to progressive collapse design and analysis method, which has become a hot research topic in the engineering sector. Historically, every time after a disastrous event, foreign countries would set a new terms of building standard to prevent the occurrence of this phenomenon,it can make the performance of structure be strengthned.And it can expound the structure performance after partial damage in detail as far as possible, and design the building in accordance with the best collapse of resistance. However our country has not clearly narrated how to prevent the structure from progressive collapse in the criterion and just asks the structure meet the integrity requirements in general.From simulates and experiment, this paper comprehensively summed up the current domestic and international research of resistance to progressive collapse and introduced the latest progress of the current international research. This paper discussed the design and analysis method to prevent the RC frame structure from progressive collapse, which provided a reference for our country to make the design standards of resistance to progressive collapse. According to take example by the foreign standards, this paper used the SAP2000finite element structural analysis software which adopted nonlinear static analysis method to assess the progressive collapse resistance performance of the reinforce concrete frame structure in China current design standards. In the horizontal direction, the author compared the collapsed high and low risk in different demolition on the same floor, and draw the conclusion that the structures in the sequence of descending were corner post, long center post, shot post and interior post. The author also draw the conclusion that mode of the structure collapse was almost same when demolishing the post in the same position on different floors. In the longitudinal direction, by comparing6floors and12floors RC frame structure in the norms in our country, after the vertical key component demolished the sensitive factors how to influence the whole structure were confirmed, such as the number of floors, the demolition position, and the conclusion from this research was the resistance progressive collapse ability of12floors RC frame structure is more than6floors. Thestructural design measures to prevent RC frame structure from progressive collapse were came up with. In order to initially know the performance of RC frame structure resistance progressive collapse, the secondary factors of the model were ignored.
