The Effect And Evaluation Of Reinforcement Corrosion On Durability Of Concrete Structure

With the application of reinforced concrete structures widely，the effectivenesson many concrete structures is lost early due to the deficiency of the structuraldurability mostly．As the recent engineering survey，the situation of destruction，caused by the durability which is resulted in reinforcement corrosion，is raised inin-service bridges. It is difficult to estimate that economic losses and the negativeimpaction caused by durability destruction．Therefore，it is a matter of greatimportance to carry out the study of the corrosion of reinforced concrete structures，especially for the evaluation of reinforcement corrosion．This paper is according to the background of the T - beam bridge engineering inChangsha，the evaluation method of reinforcement corrosion and the practicability ofthat is discussed．As follows are the points：1、The mechanism and the influenced factors of the concrete carbonation and thechloride are introduced and the influence of all kinds of reasons in the process ofconcrete corrosion are described；the reinforcement corrosion mechanism and theother factors in reinforced concrete structures are presented；summarized theprotection methods and principles of the reinforcement corrosion in concretestructures and indicated the defections and the insufficient of these methods inpractical applications．2、With an engineering example，the thought of reinforcement corrosionevaluation is proposed，and then the evaluation is used to assess the level ofcorrosion．Finally the corrosion level is directed to take corresponding preventivemeasures in order to extend the service life of the structure．And hence，theimportance of steel bar protection is made definitely and the principle of protection issummarized，that provided a reference for the corrosion protection in the engineeringof reinforced concrete structures．...
