Ultra-thin asphalt concrete, that with anti-slide, durability, noise reduction, reducingwater mist, rutting resistance, resisting abrasiveness, is a kind of asphalt concrete pavementssurface with a1.5-2.5cm paving thickness.The main function of Ultra-thin asphalt concreteis to improve the surfacing performance and repair these disease such as: slight rutting,crack. Therefore, it is often used as resurfacing of old road or a preventative maintenancemeasure,even it can also be used in the surfacing performance of new road.In this paper, we will take open-graded ultra-thin asphalt concrete as research object, byusing research and evaluation about the mix proportion design and performance of theasphalt concrete. Thus we can get the results that the ultra-thin asphalt concrete can meetstandard requirements, after taking laboratory experimental study on material compositionof ultra-thin asphalt, mix proportion design, analysis of pavement performance. Thencombining with ultra-thin asphalt concrete used in Beijing-Hongkong-Macao expressway,we can know that the ultra-thin asphalt concrete is much better than the AC—13asphaltconcrete on the space of economic benefits, social benefits and service performance.Finally, we make a conclusion that the ultra-thin asphalt concrete is worth to popularize andapply in our country.As we all know, Ultra-thin asphalt concrete is used recently in our country, so it isapplied imperfect. This paper emphasizes on the combining the characteristics of Ultra-thinasphalt concrete and based on the construction method and construction experience of otherasphalt concretes, presenting a detail technology guide for the ultra-thin asphalt concreteconstruction. In the fact of using ultra-thin asphalt concrete used inBeijing-Hongkong-Macao expressway, the reliability of technology guide for theconstruction is futher proved. Through this paper, we hope to provide useful suggestions tohelp the Ultra-thin asphalt concrete construction in future.
