The building moving which includes vertical and horizontal movement and rotation is to move an existing building from former site to a new one, keeping the integrity of construction and usability invariable.Differential settlement would be "fixed" in underpinning beam with the concrete pouring when the foundation underpinning was done before the buliding moving. When building moved on the track, the superposition of settlement difference was produced due to the restarting of the track’s foundation settlement process. Because of consolidarion and flowing deformation of foundation, settlement difference continued to appear after the building moved to destination. Internal forces redistribution of the top building was affected by the settlement difference which due to the moving. It not only affected the size of the friction but also affected the structure safety if the settlement difference exceeded the certain limit and caused the structural element’s cracking. It is necessary to control settlement difference when the building just moved into transition stage.Because at this time, one part of the building is located in the original foundation and the other part is located on the transition stage track. In additon, settlement of the original foundation has become stable.This paper used ANSYS finite-element analysis software to set up geometrical model.The special emphasis was laid on the research of influence on foundation settlement which produced by changing foundation soil elastic modulus in different working conditions.Finally,the regularity of foundation settlement in monolithic building moving engineering was found. The research also gave numerical analysis to foundation deformation of the Laiwu multiple-use building. The result of theoretical analysis was consistent with the result of practical project.Numerical analysis was made on two kinds of cases:adding pile foundation and excavated basement.The results indicated that both methods greatly reduced the settlement difference in the course of building moving.As researching foundation settlement, axial force of column footing in the translation process was analysed.The result information confirmed the influence on traction in building moving which produced by changing foundation soil elastic modulus, and provided reference for excogitation and construction of the engineering in future.This paper also combined with the foundation settlement accident that happened in building moving in Xinyang, He Nan province. Useing ANSYS finite element analysis software to give numerical analysis to underpinning panel point. The study results showed that increasing height of underpinning beam could improve it’s rigidity. Moreover, settlement difference of underpinning panel point significantly reduced. Crack of the underpinning beam and the structrue above was effectively prevented. It ensured the safety of the building moving engineering.
