In order to make the high-speed flying carrier-based aircraft safely land on the limited length deck, carrier-based aircraft can be decelerated to stop by the arresting system on aircraft carrier after landing under the guidance of aided landing system. A good aircraft arresting gear is the important guarantee for the safety of personnel, ships and carrier-based aircraft. Therefore, it has a great importance to study the aircraft arresting gear and dynamics of arrested deck-landing.Firstly, in this thesis, the landing process and dynamics of carrier-based aircraft are analyzed. Meanwhile, the change law of arresting force is researched, on the base of arresting force restricted by the maximum indexes of carrier aircraft overload, arresting cable tension, overrunning length and etc. Taking MK7-3 aircraft arresting gear for an example, the composition and working principle of aircraft arresting gear are described, and the role of pulley buffer system on aircraft arresting gear are respectively introduced. At the same time, dynamic model of carrier-based aircraft arresting system is sets up. Then simulation of the arresting system which has pulley buffer system or not has been done. Simulation results show that pulley buffer system can reduce the giant arresting cable tension because of strong shock. The limitations of passive control based on the simulation results are analyzed. As a result, a new research method that using semi-active control damping device such as MR damper to take place of pulley buffer system is proposed.Secondly, in the thesis, the working principle and mode of MR damper is introduced. Besides, force calculation model of MR damper based on the constitutive relationship of Bingham is analyzed. And it is applied in the carrier-based aircraft arresting system, and the dynamics model of the arresting system is established. At the same time, fuzzy control strategy is used for control and adjustment the damping force, and then the system is more suitable for the landing situation of different type carrier-based aircraft. According to the simulation of carrier-based aircraft, it is verified that the MR damper buffer system has a good intelligence, feasibility and applicability when carrier-based aircraft lands at different quality and speed.
