With the constant progress of modern society, people’s demand for military equipment and civil equipment is expanding constantly, the moving target detection and tracking technology has been rapidly developing and become a crucial technology in the field of modern information processing, and this technology also is of great significance to reconnaissance of battle field for UAV, and it plays an irreplaceable role in many applications. At present, It has tended to be mature for the target detection and tracking technology based on the PC, but it is still at the primary stage for the research in the application of vision technology field base on the embedded platform. Because the embedded system has the advantages of small volume perfect, convenient carrying and a series advantages which is irreplaceable by PC, It can be applied to battlefield reconnaissance and tracking target of field for UAV, so that the effect of UAV is greatly improved. so how to detect and track moving target effectively and achieve it in the embedded system is the urgent problem to be solved.This paper firstly summarizes the background,significance and research status of intelligent tracking system on vision based on the embedded platform, significance and research status around the world, It shows the importance of this topic by analysis the current situation of intelligent tracking system on vision research worldwide and the practical proplems in application. then proposed one design scheme of target detection and tracking based on the S3C2410 of ARM-Embedded Microprocessor. Moreover, It amplifys the emphases design method of this system concerning. Including the selection of embedded core processor, the selection of embedded operating system etc. Then concrete introducted the hardware platform and software design scheme of intelligent tracking system on vision base on the embedded systerm.It explicitly describe the key process such as putting up the ARM-Linux platform,USB Video Camera Driver, the transplantation of OpenCV library etc.Then It gives a detailed introduction to the target detection and tracking algorithms used in the system, and through the simulation results verified the effectiveness of this algorithm. Finally through the simulation experiments, the proposed design scheme of intelligent tracking system on vision based on embedded platform is reasonable, and also points out the research direction of the future development. This analysis and design method of target tracking system on embedded application has certain guidance and reference significance.
