| Due to their excellent mechanical properties, The lightweight lattice sandwich structures are being widely used in engineering, such as aircraft, spacecraft, vehicle, ship building and other fields. A new type of lattice sandwich structure------the sandwich structure with discontinuous cross-lattice-core has been put forward by Wang Bo, which has excellent mechanical properties, such as weight light, resistance to impact, and it is easy to process and design. As a new type of sandwich structure, it is very necessity to investigate the basic mechanical properties, especially impact resistance of the sandwich structure with discontinuous cross-lattice-core.Based on the nonlinear finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, first, a finite element numerical simulation analysis is processed to the sandwich structure unit cell with discontinuous cross-lattice-core under flat impact loading. The deflection pattern, load-displacement curve and internal energy-displacement curve are obtained to discuss the energy absorption of unit cell with some specific geometric parameters change of the core. Next, a numerical simulation analysis is processed to the sandwich structures subject to three-point bending impact, including the discontinuous cross-lattice-core sandwich structure, the traditional corrugated sandwich structure as well as two other folded sandwich structure and the creased sandwich structure. The deflection pattern, load-displacement curve and internal energy-displacement curve are obtained to discuss the energy absorption characteristics of the sandwich plate with the four sandwich structures. Finally, based on the nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS, a numerical simulation analysis is processed to the discontinuous cross-lattice-core sandwich plate, the corrugated sandwich plate and the sqaure honeycomb sandwich plate with foam-filled subject to impulse loading over a central patch. The mid-span back face deflection history, the internal energy of parts of the sandwich plates and the energy absorption efficiency vuras initial impulse are obtained to discuss the energy absorption characteristics of the sandwich plates. |
