This research focuses on two resistances against the development of distributed CCHP system in northern China:the policy refusing sending superfluous electricity back to the public grid and the excessively high ratio between heating and power demands in winter. The author designs a novel CCHP system for a hotel in Dalian, which innovatively couples heat pumps and micro turbines. The primary energy ratio of the system reaches121%and the exergy efficiency is38%, both of which remarkably precede the efficiencies of conventional CCHP system. The energy loads of the hotel are obtained with previous energy consumption and the typical variation of a hotel’s energy demands. The author then separately designs the micro gas turbine, lithium bromide absorption refrigerating machine, water source heat pump and the volume of the heat storage tank, simulating with the software Aspen Plus. Especially, through theoretical analysis on the cycle of R22working fluid, the compression heat pump is capable of simultaneously producing heating and cooling energy. Coupled with the gas turbine, the coefficient of performance (COP) of the water source heat pump is significantly raised in winter. The method to match the output power of gas turbine and heat pump is specifically described. With several gas turbines and heat pump of small capacity, the hourly operation schemes during different seasons are designed, stabilizing the high efficiency of the system.Economy of the system is analyzed from two different perspectives:the nanny style management mode and the self-management mode. Concerning the benefits of the power company, the hotel and the government, the actual contradiction during the practical operation is revealed, and two solutions are proposed. The merits of this research are the conception of the novel compression heat pump providing both heating and cooling energy, the specific method to couple heat pumps and gas turbines, and the hourly operation schemes during different seasons, which could be a reference for the other researchers.
