More and more attention has been paid to aseismic research for large-scale underground structures and space. Among them, the shallow buried reinforced concrete drainage culverts constructed by cut-and-cover method get an extensive application, while there are still no special aseismic design norms to follow and lack of the corresponding regulations in respect of the seismic standards, analytical methods and safety evaluation. Based on summary of related research status and combined with an engineering instance, a detailed static and dynamic performance study of large-section underground conveyance culvert structure located on the inhomogeneous foundation was investigated by means of numerical analysis in order to clarify the response characteristics of the culvert-foundation system under design seismic action. The main work of the paper is summarized as follows:(1) Summarize the background and significance of the subject research, review the previous achievements and progress, and point out the existing problems.(2) Compared with equivalent linearization method, the feasibility and reliability of fully nonlinear method based on the FLAC3D platform are verified during stratified foundation seismic response analysis.(3) According to the characteristics of the cut-and-cover construction, static calculation, simulating the various stages of the work process step-by-step, compares and analyses the results of diverse constitutive models—Mohr-Coulomb Model, Drucker-Prager Model and Duncan-Chang E-B Model—of the weak residual soil underlying, and the foundation soils are evaluated in the two aspects of settlement and bearing capacity.(4)3D seismic response analysis, taking the static calculation as the initial conditions, is fully considered of the structure-soil interactions, the dynamic hysteretic behaviors of layered soil as well as non-reflective properties of the artificial boundary, and the comparative analyses of different schemes, by changing the damping model and the constitutive model of the soil, are presented to estimate the reliability of structure-foundation system in respect of the overall displacements of the culvert structures, the relative displacements of expansion joints, the principal stresses of reinforced concrete structures along with the vertical stresses of foundation soils. (5) Analyze the deficiency of my research in the last chapter and put forward the proposal to the following work.
