Operational mileage of our country’s high speed railway is far from the requirements of economy and society, which led our government to have formulated "Long-term rail network planning". Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan Passenger Dedicated Line is linking Mianyang and Leshan, which Chengdu playing a hub in the middle. It is the first inter-city railway in Midwest and is built after Wenchuan Earthquake. Based on Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan Passenger Dedicated Line, subgrade design and deformation of ultra-long rail storage site is studied.1) Geological exploration or ultra-long rail storage site was carried out. Physical and mechanics parameters of subgrade soil are determined through drill-hole sampling, standard penetration test and a series of indoor soil test.2) Subgrade of storage site was designed based on physical and mechanics parameters obtained. Settlement can be controlled by changing the length, diameter and spacing of piles, so as to guarantee the smoothness requirement for storing ultra-long rails.3) Finite Element Method software ABAQUS is used to build model, in which subgrade soil is considered as ideal elastoplastic body and grade beam as well as CFG pile is considered as line elastomer to simulate deformation of subgrade under loads of ultra-long rails.Preparation work and design process of subgrade for ultra-long rail storage site is studied and Foundation reinforcement method is summarized. Research results can provide reference for similar projects.
