Power assisted system can enhance the athletic ability of the user. It can provide for the user with support and protection as well, and it is the mounting platform of the control system and the energy system simultaneously. The performance of the mechanical structure would influence the transfer efficiency of the system. If using the traditional physical prototype design method to design the mechanical structure, the design cycle will be lengthened. Virtual prototyping technology is a new research and design method of the products. It can be used to substitute the actual physical prototyping method and it is based on digital design method. It is used widely in fields of structure design. In this paper, the finite element analysis software ANSYS and the simulation software MATLAB, ADAMS are used to analyze the mechanical structure of the power assisted system, the following points are concluded:1. By the research of the law of motion of the body, analysis and research of the skeletal structure and the athletic stance, the variation of the joints angles, the mode of motion and the number of degrees of freedom of movement of the human lower limb bone are obtained, which can be used to support the design and the simulation of the power assisted system.2. The personified mechanism design method is used to carry out the design of the mechanical structure, the ANSYS software is used simultaneously to analyze the static stress of the model and modified advice is put up with.3. Several kinds of algorithms are used to solve the optimization problem of the three pin-connected joints installation location of the hydraulic cylinder luffing mechanism in the shank. The natural frequency and mode of the shank are obtained using modal dynamic analysis method, which can be used as the reference of the estimation and the optimization design of the structure dynamic feature; the virtual prototype is established using ADAMS software, based on the analysis parametric of the human gait, the process of the action of the squat down and kneel on one knee are simulated using the virtual prototype, to provide numerical basis for the design of the hydraulic system.4. The physical prototype testing platform is build and tested using Static resistance strain gauges, then the experimental data are compared with the data of the virtual prototype to verify the rationality of the design of the mechanical structure, and provide actual test data for the modification and optimization of the power assisted system.In this paper, the law of body motion, the finite element method and the virtual prototype technology are combined in the design process of the mechanical structure. The research results can provide efficient reference for the desian and the modification of the mechanical structure model.
