Traditional soft magnetic material includes pure iron, alloy, silicon-steel and ferrite. Those four types of soft magnetic materials have been used widely in industrial applications, especially the silicon-steel and ferrite. Up to now, silicon-steel and ferrite are still the main products in the market of soft magnetic materials. However, as the progress of industry, especially the great progress of electric industry, the traditional soft magnetic materials can hardly satisfy the market needs, for example, the high loss of silicon-steel and low saturation magnetization of ferrite have been becoming significant problems. In order to find and discover better soft magnetic materials, people start new exploration and develop a series of new types of soft magnetic materials, including amorphous alloy, nano microcrystallizing alloy, magnetic powder core and etc. The iron-based magnetic powder core has developed rapidly, whose properties superior to traditional soft magnetic materials and enjoys a more inexpensive price than those of other new types of soft magnetic materials, thus it is used widely and rapidly in industrial applications.The major consistent of iron-based magnetic powder core includes magnetic element, of which the major consistent is iron, including nickel and cobalt sometimes, and non magnetic element, of which the major consistent is metalloid elements such as silicon and boron that can form alloy easily with iron and share high resistivity, in order to reduce the loss of magnetic powder core. The preparation method of magnetic powder core includes smelting, powder processing, surface processing, compression moulding, annealing sintering and etc. The surface processing is the most important step, which directly influence the soft magnetic property of magnetic powder core and the next process.Considering the products of iron-based magnetic powder core in national market have just begun by now, thus the industrial processing is immature and there are inevitable problems about the property of magnetic powder core and many index gaps comparing with international level. For catching up with and even surpassing the international level, we focus on this paper, do many researches of iron-based magnetic powder core and have obtained products with good property.In this paper, FeSi6.5is chosen as the alloy powder, and after the surface processing and the compression moulding, is manufactured into magnetic powder core. For obtaining products with good combination property, we study many different surface processing technologies and the anneal processing technologies. After many properties of magnetic powder core being measured by related instruments and facilities, the FeSi6.5magnetic powder core with surface insulating material of nano SiO2has been chosen and obtained by the advanced industrial technology.In this paper, the first part mainly introduces the development of soft magnetic material, and the meaning and measurement approaches of each property index. The second part mainly discussed the experiment process and the measurement result, and the obtained excellent experiment result is summarized at last.
